Model with Down’s Syndrome Makes Fashion Splash

As March is Down’s syndrome Awareness and Developmental Disabilities Month – the timing is perfect for us to note that Sofia is the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down’s syndrome. She embodies their campaign of “There are no limits.”

Sofia also spilled her secret to the world on her Instagram with these posts: “One day I dreamed of it, I worked on it, and today it is a dream come true. I can finally tell you my big secret,” Sofía captioned her first photo post. “I am the first Victoria’s Secret model with Down Syndrome!”
Down’s syndrome is the most common chromosomal disorder affecting an estimated 1 in 800 infants. As it affects a child physically, there will be certain features that health care teams can notice right at birth, and most children with the syndrome will have some or all of these traits.
